Canal and river cruising holds something for everyone, offering the perfect opportunity to unwind and experience a thoroughly tranquil pace of life. A time to relax and enjoy the tremendous views, appreciate nature and wildlife, wonder at the ingenious engineering on which the canals were built, walk the towpath or simply enjoy a social break or occasion in unique and comfortable surroundings.

A hotel boat holiday is a unique experience and what better way to experience it than aboard the most luxurious hotel boat on England’s inland waterways. The Wessex Rose is the finest in canal cruising luxury and equipped to provide discerning guests with all they may expect from a floating hotel. Carrying only six passengers in three bespoke comfortable cabins ensures guests receive individual attention in cosy and intimate environment at a relaxing and unhurried pace of life.

Allow us to take you on a 3, 5, 7 or 9 night fully inclusive cruise on the beautiful Kennet & Avon canal, River Thames or Grand Union Canal. Relax and watch the world go by seated on our roof top deck or from our comfortable saloon with its large fully opening front and side windows and motorised tilt and slide sun roof. Or, if you’re feeling energetic you may enjoy a walk along the towpath or perhaps take a turn at steering the boat and working the locks. However you choose to enjoy your cruise, you will be experiencing a little of life as it used to be on the waterways.

Canal and river cruising is a perfect way to appreciate the natural environment. The canal and river banks are rich in a diverse range of bird, wild and plant life and there are numerous nature reserves and protected natural areas along the waterways. You can appreciate the fabulous scenery and look out for a glimpse of a Kingfisher or Heron from a comfortable chair aboard the boat or venture further afield by taking a short, half day or full day walk and re-join the boat at a new location later in the day.

Throughout the cruise you will be served fine food prepared and cooked in our own well equipped galley and a variety of soft drinks, house wine and other beverages are all included in the price of your cruise. A selection of leaf teas and fresh coffee are served morning and afternoon with homemade cookies, cakes or scones.

As we moor at the end of each day, you may like to take an evening stroll along the tow path and then relax with a pre-dinner drink on our rooftop deck as life on the water winds down for the evening.

Then enjoy a 4 course dinner in the stylish comfort of the saloon and relax afterwards with coffee and drinks in the company of your fellow guests before retiring to one of the Wessex Rose’s three luxurious double or twin cabins with full en-suite facilities. All are equipped with tea & coffee making facilities, individually controlled under floor heating, hair dryer, reading lights, superior quality anti allergenic bedding and linen, robes and slippers and in the bathroom soft thick towels and toiletries.
