Kingston-upon-Thames to London and back to Kingston-upon-Thames (7 nights) Thursday 11 July 2024

Kingston upon Thames
Come and experience London from a completely different view. This waterway will definitely give you a new perspective of London and its sites.
This cruise departs from the visitor moorings in the bustling town of Kingston upon Thames. We leave the calm waters of the non-tidal Thames as we pass through the lock at Teddington on our way to the Thames lock. The Grand Union now meanders its way to Bulls Bridge where we branch off and moor up for the night at Willow Tree Marina.
This picturesque marina is a great place to stretch your legs and explore the local area. There are plenty of walking and cycling trails to follow, as well as some lovely pubs and restaurants.
The next stop on your canal boat cruise is Paddington Basin, a bustling hub of activity located in the heart of London. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to visit some of the city’s most iconic landmarks, including the London Eye and the Houses of Parliament. There are also plenty of museums, galleries, and shops to keep you entertained. The “Man with a hat” Nigel Homer will be there to guide you around and show you some of the secret London sites.
Today we moor up at the Canal Museum, a fascinating attraction dedicated to the history of the UK’s canals. Here, you’ll learn about the role that the canals played in the Industrial Revolution and see some fascinating exhibits, including old canal boats and artifacts from the era.
Your cruise then heads for the Limehouse Basin, a charming marina located in the heart of London’s East End. This vibrant area is full of character, with a mix of trendy restaurants, pubs, and independent shops. There are also some great markets to explore, including the famous Brick Lane Market. Early evening will need you to put on your party shoes as we whisk you off for a surprise dinner. You will be driven to one of London’s Iconic buildings where you will enjoy a fine dinner while marvelling at the incredible view. A Port back on board brings this busy day to a close.
The morning sees us prepare for our cruise up the tidal Thames. The adrenaline will be flowing as our pilot takes us out of the Limehouse basin and up the Thames. You will be spoilt for choice on the number of famous sites like London Bridge and the Houses of Parliament that we cruise past on our way to Thames lock. Should our “Man in a hat” Nigel, be onboard with us he will make sure you don’t miss anything. His vast knowledge will both entertain and inform you. Through the Thames lock again and cruising back to where we started at Kingston upon Thames to moor up at the end of the day.
Thank you for choosing to travel with us, we hope you have a wonderful time!
